بَابُ إِعَادَةِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي جَمَاعَةٍChapter on repeating the prayer in congregation

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ هَارُونَ ، نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْقَطَّانُ ، نا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ الطَّائِفِيُّ ، عَنْ نُوحِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا جِئْتَ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ فَوَجَدْتَ النَّاسَ يُصَلُّونَ فَصَلِّ مَعَهُمْ ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ تَكُونُ لَكَ نَافِلَةً وَهَذِهِ مَكْتُوبَةٌ " .
Sayyiduna Yazid bin ‘Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: “When you come (to the mosque) for prayer and find the people performing prayer, then perform prayer with them. If you have already performed that prayer, then it will be counted as a voluntary (nafl) prayer for you, and it will be considered as obligatory (fard).”
