Hadith 3009
Asim bin Umar bin Qatadah Ansari reported that the Commander of the Faithful, Sayyiduna Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), searched for the heir of Ibn ad-Dahdahah but did not find him, so he gave the wealth of Ibn ad-Dahdahah to his maternal uncles.
Hadith 3010
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Allah and His Messenger are the guardians of the one who has no guardian, and the maternal uncle is the heir of the one who has no heir.
Hadith 3011
Ziyad said: A case regarding the maternal uncle and maternal aunt was brought to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), so he gave two-thirds to the maternal uncle and one-third to the maternal aunt.
Hadith 3012
It is narrated from Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) gave one-third to the maternal aunt and two-thirds to the paternal aunt.
Hadith 3013
Qais bin Hubtar Nahshali said: The issue of maternal and paternal aunts was brought before Abdul Malik bin Marwan. Then an old man stood up and said: I was present with Sayyiduna Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), he gave one-third to the maternal aunt and two-thirds to the paternal aunt. And he intended to have this written down, then said: Where will Zaid go with this?
Hadith 3014
It is narrated from Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him): Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The maternal aunt is in the rank of the mother, and the paternal aunt is in the rank of the father, and the niece is in the rank of the brother, and every relative by womb (kin) is in the rank of the one who is the closest relative to the deceased, as long as there is no closer heir.
