Hadith 2894
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas and Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with them). Shu’bah said: And Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) is the one who was the first to shoot an arrow in the way of Allah, and Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) is the one who climbed the fort of Ta’if and descended towards the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Both these companions narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever claims to be the son of anyone other than his father, knowing that he is not his father, Paradise is forbidden for him.”
Hadith 2895
Sayyiduna Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Claiming an unknown lineage is disbelief with Allah, and likewise, disassociating from any lineage, even if only a little, is disbelief with Allah.
Hadith 2896
From this chain, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) in the same manner as mentioned above.
Hadith 2897
Qais bin Abi Hazim said: I went to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to pledge allegiance to him, but when I reached (Medina), he (peace be upon him) had passed away and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was his successor (caliph). So he praised him greatly and wept much, and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "To deny even a minor lineage is disbelief with Allah, and to claim an unknown (unrecognized) lineage is also disbelief with Allah."
Hadith 2898
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever claims for himself a father other than his (real) father, or claims as his mawla (patron) someone other than those who set him free, then upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people until the Day of Resurrection. None of his deeds or wealth will be accepted.”
