باب في أَسْمَاءِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
Chapter on the names of the Prophet
Hadith 2810
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ: "إِنَّ لِي أَسْمَاءً: أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، وَأَنَا أَحْمَدُ، وَأَنَا الْمَاحِي الَّذِي يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِيَ الْكُفْرَ، وَأَنَا الْحَاشِرُ الَّذِي يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ عَلَى قَدَمِي، وَأَنَا الْعَاقِبُ، وَالْعَاقِبُ الَّذِي لَيْسَ بَعْدَهُ أَحَدٌ".
Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “I have several names: I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, my name is Maahi, by whom Allah will erase disbelief, and I am Haashir, for all people will be gathered after me (on the Day of Resurrection), and I am ‘Aaqib (that is, the Seal of the Prophets), and ‘Aaqib is the one after whom there is no (prophet).”
