Chapter on maintaining prayer
Hadith 2756
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ هُوَ: ابْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي كَعْبُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ هِلَالٍ الصَّدَفِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ الصَّلَاةَ يَوْمًا، فَقَالَ: "مَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَيْهَا، كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا، وَبُرْهَانًا، وَنَجَاةً مِنَ النَّارِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يُحَافِظْ عَلَيْهَا، لَمْ تَكُنْ لَهُ نُورًا، وَلَا نَجَاةً، وَلَا بُرْهَانًا، وَكَانَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَعَ قَارُونَ , وَفِرْعَوْنَ , وَهَامَانَ , أُبَيِّ بْنِ خَلَفٍ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned prayer one day and said: “Whoever is regular in performing it, for him on the Day of Resurrection it will be a light, a proof, and a means of salvation from Hell. And whoever is not regular in performing these prayers, for him it will be neither light, nor proof, nor salvation; rather, on the Day of Resurrection, he will be with Qarun, Pharaoh, Haman, and Ubayy bin Khalaf.” (Who were the worst of people and destined for Hell.)
