باب في ذَهَابِ الصَّالِحِينَ:
Chapter on the passing of the righteous
Hadith 2754
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ هُوَ: ابْنُ بِشْرٍ الْأَحْمَسِيُّ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ مِرْدَاسٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "يَذْهَبُ الصَّالِحُونَ أَسْلَافًا وَيَبْقَى حُثَالَةٌ كَحُثَالَةِ الشَّعِيرِ".
Sayyiduna Mirdas Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The good (righteous) people will pass away one after another, and after them, people will remain who are like the husks of barley."
