Hadith 2707
Abdullah bin Sarjis said: The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) used to supplicate when setting out on a journey: “«اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُبِكَ ...... O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of travel, from distress upon return, from decline after advancement, from the supplication of the oppressed, and from witnessing any misfortune in my family or wealth.”
Hadith 2708
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out on a journey and mounted his ride, he would say "Allahu Akbar" three times, then recite this supplication: "«سُبْحَانَ الَّذِيْ سَخَّرَ لَنَا ........ Glory is to Him Who has subjected this (ride) to us, though we could never have accomplished it (by ourselves), and surely to our Lord we shall return. O Allah! We ask You for goodness and piety in this journey of ours, and for deeds that please You. O Allah! Make this journey easy for us and fold up the distance of the earth for us. O Allah! You are the Companion in the journey and the Successor over the family. O Allah! Accompany us in our journey and take care of our families in our absence."
