باب في كَفَّارَةِ الْمَجْلِسِ:
Chapter on expiation for gatherings
Hadith 2693
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ يَعْنِي: ابْنَ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ، عَنْ رُفَيْعٍ: أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، قَالَ: لَمَّا كَانَ بِأَخَرَةٍ، كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَقُومَ، قَالَ: "سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ". فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّكَ لَتَقُولُ الْآنَ كَلَامًا، مَا كُنْتَ تَقُولُهُ فِيمَا خَلَا، فَقَالَ: "هَذَا كَفَّارَةٌ لِمَا يَكُونُ فِي الْمَجَالِسِ".
Sayyiduna Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Towards the end (of his life), when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would sit in a gathering and intended to stand up, he would say: “«سُبْحَانَكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ ...... أَتُوْبُ إِلَيْكَ» O Allah! I declare Your purity with Your praise, I bear witness that there is no deity except You, I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.” The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! Previously you did not say this which you now say? He replied: “This is an expiation for whatever occurred in the gathering.”
