باب في الْحَرْبِيِّ إِذَا قَدِمَ مُسْلِماً:
Chapter: If a War Captive Becomes Muslim
Hadith 2516
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَجَلِيُّ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ صَخْرِ بْنِ الْعَيْلَةِ، قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد: وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَقُولُ: الْغِيلَةِ . قَالَ: أَخَذْتُ عَمَّةَ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، فَقَدِمْتُ بِهَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَمَّتَهُ، فَقَالَ: "يَا صَخْرُ، إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ إِذَا أَسْلَمُوا، أَحْرَزُوا أَمْوَالَهُمْ وَدِمَاءَهُمْ، فَادْفَعْهَا إِلَيْهِ". وَكَانَ مَاءٌ لِبَنِي سُلَيْمٍ، فَأَسْلَمُوا فَأَتَوْهُ فَسَأَلُوهُ ذَلِكَ، فَدَعَانِي، فَقَالَ: "يَا صَخْرُ، إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ إِذَا أَسْلَمُوا، أَحْرَزُوا أَمْوَالَهُمْ وَدِمَاءَهُمْ، فَادْفَعْهُ إِلَيْهِمْ" فَدَفَعْتُهُ.
Sayyiduna Sakhr bin ‘Ailah (and some said Ghailah), may Allah be pleased with him, said: I captured the paternal aunt of Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu‘bah, may Allah be pleased with him, and brought her to the service of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Sayyiduna Mughirah, may Allah be pleased with him, requested his paternal aunt from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “O Sakhr! When people become Muslim, their wealth and their blood become protected. Hand her over to Mughirah.”
And there was a water spring belonging to Banu Sulaym. When they accepted Islam, they came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and requested its return. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, called me and said: “O Sakhr! When people accept Islam, they protect their wealth and their blood. Return it (the spring) to them.” So I returned it to them.
And there was a water spring belonging to Banu Sulaym. When they accepted Islam, they came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and requested its return. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, called me and said: “O Sakhr! When people accept Islam, they protect their wealth and their blood. Return it (the spring) to them.” So I returned it to them.
