Hadith 2498
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: In one of the battles of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a woman was found who had been killed. Upon seeing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the killing of women and children.
Hadith 2499
Sayyiduna Aswad bin Sari’ (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a military expedition and succeeded in capturing some polytheists. The people hastened to kill them to the extent that they even began killing their children. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) learned of this, he said: “What is the matter? Some people have gone so far in killing and bloodshed that they have started killing children as well? Beware, do not kill children.” He repeated this command three times. In some narrations, the word «لَا تَقْتُلُنَّ» is used, meaning: “Never, ever kill children.”
