باب في قَبِيعَةِ سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
Chapter: The Pommel of the Prophet’s Sword
Hadith 2494
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: "كَانَ قَبِيعَةُ سَيْفِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ" . قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ: هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتَوَائِيُّ خَالَفَهُ . قَالَ: قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَزَعَمَ النَّاسُ أَنَّهُ هُوَ الْمَحْفُوظُ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the handle of the sword of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was made of silver.
Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Hisham al-Dastuwa'i has contradicted this; he narrated from Qatadah, who narrated from Sa'id bin Abi al-Hasan, and he narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and people have considered this to be the preserved (authentic) narration.
