It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rayhanah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a battle when he heard him saying: "The Hellfire is forbidden for the eye that stays awake in the way of Allah, and the Hellfire is forbidden for the eye that weeps out of the fear of Allah Almighty (i.e., becomes filled with tears)." Sayyiduna Abu Rayhanah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned a third eye as well, but I forgot it. Abu Shurayh said: I heard from the narrator who mentioned the third eye, and it is this: "Allah Almighty has made Hellfire forbidden for the eye that refrains from looking at what Allah has forbidden (i.e., does not look at indecencies and evil), or the eye that is blinded (i.e., lost) in the path of Allah, the Exalted."
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "May Allah have mercy on the one who stands guard over the army."
Imam Darimi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: In the chain of this hadith, it is not established that Umar bin Abdul Aziz met Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir, may Allah be pleased with him.
