Chapter: Which Deeds Are Best
Hadith 2430
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ ؟، قَالَ: "إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ". قَالَ: قِيلَ: ثُمَّ مَاذَا ؟ . قَالَ: "ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ". قِيلَ: ثُمَّ مَاذَا ؟ . قَالَ: "ثُمَّ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked: Which deed is the best? He replied: “To have faith in Allah and His Messenger.” It was asked: Which deed is best after that? He said: “Jihad in the way of Allah.” It was asked: Which deed is best after that? He said: “A Hajj that is accepted (by Allah).”
