Hadith 2371
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) said: His sister made a vow that she would go for Hajj on foot and with her head uncovered. I mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so he said: "Tell your sister to cover her head and ride, and to fast for three days." (i.e., to give expiation for not fulfilling the vow).
Hadith 2372
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the sister of Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) made a vow to go to the Sacred House (the Ka'bah) on foot. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah is free of need from your sister's vow. She should ride (i.e., travel mounted) and, as expiation, slaughter a sacrificial animal (hady)."
Hadith 2373
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw an elderly companion walking on foot between his two sons, so he asked, “What has happened to this elder?” (that he is walking with your support). His sons replied, “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! He has made a vow to go (for Hajj) on foot.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “O elder! Ride, for Allah is free of need from you and your vow.” (That is, Allah has no need of it. In Sahih Bukhari it is stated: “Allah is independent (free of need) of this person putting himself in hardship.”)
