Chapter: The Option (of Annulment)
Hadith 2306
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ الْخِيَرَةِ، فَقَالَتْ: "قَدْ خَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَفَكَانَ طَلَاقًا ؟".
Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I asked Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about giving the option of divorce, so she replied: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave us the option, so did merely giving the option become a divorce?
