Hadith 2293
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her, and at that time a man was sitting with her. The blessed face of the Prophet changed, and signs of displeasure appeared on his blessed countenance. She said: "This is my milk-brother." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Investigate carefully who your (foster) brothers are. Suckling is only considered valid when the milk is drunk at the time of hunger."
Hadith 2294
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Lady Sahla bint Suhail bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with her), who was married to Abu Hudhaifah bin Utbah bin Rabi’ah (may Allah be pleased with him), came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: The slave of Abu Hudhaifah, Salim, comes to our house and I am in my ordinary home clothes, and we consider him as our child, and Abu Hudhaifah had adopted him just as the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had adopted Zaid bin Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him), until this verse: «﴿ادْعُوهُمْ لِآبَائِهِمْ ...... ﴾» [احزاب: 5/33] was revealed. In any case, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her to breastfeed Salim. Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Breastfeeding an adult was specific only to Salim. That is, if any other adult drinks milk, the prohibition will not be established.
