باب الإِقَامَةِ عِنْدَ الثَّيِّبِ وَالْبِكْرِ إِذَا بَنَى بِهَا:
Chapter: Staying with a Virgin or Previously Married Wife After Marriage
Hadith 2246
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "لِلْبِكْرِ سَبْعٌ، وَلِلثَّيِّبِ ثَلَاثٌ".
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "For a virgin, there are seven days, and for a previously married woman, there are three days."
Hadith 2247
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ: أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ، أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثًا، وَقَالَ: "إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِكِ عَلَى أَهْلِكِ هَوَانٌ، إِنْ شِئْتِ، سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ، وَإِنْ سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ، سَبَّعْتُ لِسَائِرِ نِسَائِي".
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married her, he stayed with her for three days and said: "Your status is not less in my sight. If you wish, I can stay with you for seven days, then I will stay with each wife for seven days in the same way." (And then after all, your turn will come, but she said: Stay with each one in turn for one day and then come to me.)
