باب في الْفَأْرَةِ تَقَعُ في السَّمْنِ فَمَاتَتْ:
Chapter: A Mouse Falling into Fat and Dying
Hadith 2120
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ فَأْرَةٍ وَقَعَتْ فِي السَمْنٍ فَقَالَ: "أَلْقُوهَا وَمَا حَوْلَهَا، وَكُلُوا" .
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about a mouse that had fallen into ghee. He said: “Remove it and throw away the ghee around it, and (the remaining ghee) eat it.”
Hadith 2121
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ.
Muhammad bin Yusuf narrates from Ibn Uyaynah with the same chain.
Hadith 2122
حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ فَأْرَةٍ وَقَعَتْ فِي سَمْنٍ فَمَاتَتْ، فَقَالَ: "خُذُوهَا وَمَا حَوْلَهَا فَاطْرَحُوهُ".
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: If a mouse falls into ghee and dies (what should be done?), he said: "Remove it and the ghee around it and throw them away."
Hadith 2123
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، نَحْوَهُ . قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد: إِذَا كَانَ ذَائِبًا أُهَرِيقَ.
With this chain also, a narration similar to the previous one is reported from Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If the ghee is melted, then all of it should be thrown away.
