Chapter: On Pumpkin
Hadith 2087
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ إِسْحَاق بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: "رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِمَرَقَةٍ فِيهَا دُبَّاءٌ وَقَدِيدٌ، فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَتَتَبَّعُ الدُّبَّاءَ يَأْكُلُهُ".
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and broth (with bread) was presented to him in which there was gourd and roasted meat. I saw him searching for pieces of gourd and eating them.
Hadith 2088
أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: "كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْجِبُهُ الْقَرْعُ" . قَالَ: فَقُدِّمَ إِلَيْهِ، فَجَعَلْتُ أَتَنَاوَلُهُ وَأَجْعَلُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ.
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) liked bottle gourd. When it was presented before him, I would pick it up and place it before him.
