Hadith 2052
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: At a place called Marr az-Zahran, we chased a hare. People ran after it, and when they became tired, I got close and caught it. I brought it to Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him), who slaughtered it and sent its back meat or both thighs (Sa‘id was unsure about this) to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he accepted it.
Hadith 2053
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he passed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) carrying two rabbits hanging, and said: O Messenger of Allah! I passed by the herd of my family and hunted these two, but I did not find any iron object with which to slaughter them, so I slaughtered them with a sharp white stone. Can I eat them? He said: "Yes, eat them."
