باب في صَيْدِ الْبَحْرِ:
Chapter: Sea Game
Hadith 2050
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قِرَاءَةً، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ مِنْ آلِ الْأَزْرَقِ، أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّا نَرْكَبُ الْبَحْرَ وَنَحْمِلُ مَعَنَا الْقَلِيلَ مِنْ الْمَاءِ، فَإِنْ تَوَضَّأْنَا بِهِ، عَطِشْنَا، أَفَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مَاءِ الْبَحْرِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "هُوَ الطَّهُورُ مَاؤُهُ، الْحِلُّ مَيْتَتُهُ".
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! We travel by sea and carry only a small amount of fresh water with us. If we use it for ablution, we will be left thirsty. So, can we perform ablution with the water of the sea?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Its water is pure and its dead (animals) are lawful."
Hadith 2051
أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو يَعْنِي: ابْنَ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: "بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ثَلَاثِ مِئَةٍ، فَأَصَابَنَا جُوعٌ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا الْبَحْرَ وَقَدْ قَذَفَ دَابَّةً، فَأَكَلْنَا مِنْهَا حَتَّى ثَابَتْ أَجْسَامُنَا، فَأَخَذَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ ضِلْعًا مِنْ أَضْلَاعِهَا فَوَضَعَهُ، ثُمَّ حَمَلَ أَطْوَلَ رَجُلٍ فِي الْجَيْشِ عَلَى أَعْظَمِ بَعِيرٍ فِي الْجَيْشِ فَمَرَّ تَحْتَهُ، هَذَا مَعْنَاهُ".
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent us with an army of three hundred, and hunger overtook us (i.e., our provisions ran out). We reached the sea, and suddenly it threw out a huge creature, which we ate well and our bodies became fat. Sayyiduna Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) (the commander of the army) stood up one of its ribs, and the tallest man of the army was made to sit on the largest camel, and he passed underneath it.
