Hadith 2043
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps a dog for purposes other than hunting or guarding livestock, two qirats are deducted from his deeds (reward or virtue) every day."
Hadith 2044
Sa’ib bin Yazid heard from Sufyan bin Abi Zuhair, who was narrating hadith to the people at the door of the mosque, saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Whoever keeps a dog that is neither for farming nor for livestock, then a qirat from his good deeds is reduced every day. Sa’ib said: I asked, did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? He replied: Yes, yes, by the Lord of this mosque, (I heard this from the Prophet, peace be upon him).
Hadith 2045
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the killing of dogs, then said: "What concern do I have with dogs?" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted keeping dogs for farming and hunting.
