باب الاِسْتِمْتَاعِ بِجُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ:
Chapter: Using the Skin of Dead Animals
Hadith 2024
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ الْأَسْقِيَةِ، فَقَالَ: مَا أَدْرِي مَا أَقُولُ لَكَ، غَيْرَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "أَيُّمَا إِهَابٍ دُبِغَ فَقَدْ طَهُرَ".
Abdur Rahman bin Wa'lah said: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about a leather water-skin (in which water is filled), so he said: I do not understand what answer I should give you except that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Any hide that is tanned has become pure."
Hadith 2025
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق، عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ جُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ، فَقَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "دِبَاغُهَا طَهُورُهَا" . قِيلَ لِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: تَقُولُ بِهَذَا ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، إِذَا كَانَ يُؤْكَلُ لَحْمُهُ.
Abdur Rahman bin Wa'lah said: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the skin of a dead animal, so he replied: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By tanning, it becomes purified." Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: Do you also say the same? He replied: Yes, the skin of that animal (which is lawful to eat) can be used.
Hadith 2026
أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ قُسَيْطٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: "أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُسْتَمْتَعَ بِجُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ إِذَا دُبِغَتْ".
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the use of the skin of a dead animal.
Hadith 2027
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: مَاتَتْ شَاةٌ لِمَيْمُونَةَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "لَوْ اسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِإِهَابِهَا؟"قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ، قَالَ: "إِنَّمَا حُرِّمَ أَكْلُهَا" .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The goat of his maternal aunt, Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), died, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not benefit from its skin?" The people said: O Messenger of Allah! It was dead. He said: "Only eating the dead animal is forbidden."
Hadith 2028
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُصَفَّى، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، عَنْ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، نَحْوَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ . قِيلَ لِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ: مَا تَقُولُ فِي الثَّعَالِبِ إِذَا دُبِغَتْ؟ قَالَ: أَكْرَهُهَا.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a narration with the same meaning as this hadith. Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: What is your opinion about the skin of foxes if it has been tanned? He replied: I consider it disliked (because the fox is not lawful to eat, its consumption is not permissible).
