باب مَا لاَ يُؤْكَلُ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ:
Chapter: Predatory Animals That Are Not Eaten
Hadith 2019
أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ، قَالَ: "نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَكْلِ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنْ السِّبَاعِ".
Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating every predatory animal with fangs.
Hadith 2020
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ابْنُ عَمِّ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ، قَالَ: "نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْخَطْفَةِ، وَالْمُجَثَّمَةِ، وَالنُّهْبَةِ، وَعَنْ أَكْلِ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنْ السِّبَاعِ".
Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade (hunting) animals with claws, killing an animal that is tied up, looting, and eating predatory animals with fangs.
Hadith 2021
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: "نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَكْلِ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنْ السِّبَاعِ، وَكُلِّ ذِي مِخْلَبٍ مِنْ الطَّيْرِ".
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating the flesh of every predatory animal with fangs and every predatory bird with talons (i.e., those that hunt with talons, such as hawks, falcons, vultures, etc., and this also includes kites and vultures).
