باب الْبَدَنَةُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ وَالْبَقَرَةُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ:
Chapter: One Camel or Cow Suffices for Seven
Hadith 1994
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: نَحَرْنَا يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ سَبْعِينَ بَدَنَةً، الْبَدَنَةُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "اشْتَرِكُوا فِي الْهَدْيِ".
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: On the day of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, we slaughtered seventy camels, one camel on behalf of seven people, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had said: "Share in the sacrificial animal (hady)."
Hadith 1995
أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: "نَحَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ" . قِيلَ لِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ: تَقُولُ بِهِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ.
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We offered the sacrifice of a cow on behalf of seven people along with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: Do you say the same? He replied: Yes.
