من كتاب الاضاحيFrom the Book of Sacrifices
باب مَا يُسْتَدَلُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ الأُضْحِيَّةَ لَيْسَ بِوَاجِبٍ:
Chapter: Evidence That Sacrifice Is Not Obligatory
Hadith 1986
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي: ابْنَ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي: ابْنَ أَبِي هِلَالٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ، قَالَ: "مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُضَحِّيَ، فَلَا يُقَلِّمْ أَظْفَارَهُ، وَلَا يَحْلِقْ شَيْئًا مِنْ شَعْرِهِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأُوَلِ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ".
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever intends to offer a sacrifice should not cut his nails or shave his hair during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah."
Hadith 1987
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "إِذَا دَخَلَتْ الْعَشْرُ، وَأَرَادَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يُضَحِّيَ، فَلَا يَمَسَّ مِنْ شَعْرِهِ وَلَا أَظْفَارِهِ شَيْئًا".
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah begin, and any one of you intends to offer a sacrifice, then he should not cut his hair nor trim his nails."
