Chapter: Performing Qiran (Combined Hajj and Umrah)
Hadith 1851
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ: إِنِّي مُحَدِّثُكَ بِحَدِيثٍ لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَكَ بِهِ بَعْدُ، إِنَّهُ كَانَ يُسَلَّمُ عَلَيَّ وَإِنَّ ابْنَ زِيَادٍ أَمَرَنِي فَاكْتَوَيْتُ، فَاحْتُبِسَ عَنِّي حَتَّى ذَهَبَ أَثَرُ الْمَكَاوِي، وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ "الْمُتْعَةَ حَلَالٌ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ، لَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْهَا نَبِيٌّ، وَلَمْ يَنْزِلْ فِيهَا كِتَابٌ"، قَالَ رَجُلٌ بِرَأْيِهِ مَا بَدَا لَهُ.
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I will narrate to you a hadith; perhaps Allah will benefit you with it later. Angels used to greet me with salam. Ibn Ziyad ordered me to cauterize my wounds, (so upon doing so) the salam stopped until the marks of cauterization disappeared (then the salam resumed). And listen, after performing ‘Umrah, Allah’s Book has made it lawful to come out of Ihram, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) neither forbade it nor is there any prohibition of it in the Qur’an. A man, relying on his own opinion, said otherwise thinking it to be correct.
