Hadith 1836
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "When we enter into the state of Ihram, which clothes should we wear?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not wear a shirt, trousers, turban, cap, or socks. However, if someone does not have shoes, he may wear socks, but he should cut them below the ankles. And do not wear any garment that has been touched with saffron or wars (a kind of dye)."
Hadith 1837
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that he heard from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Whoever does not have a sheet to wrap (for Ihram) may wear trousers, and whoever does not find shoes may wear socks." The narrator said: I asked, or it was asked: Should he cut those socks (from above)? He replied: No.
Hadith 1838
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the clothing of a person in Ihram, so he (peace be upon him) said: "Do not wear a shirt, turban, trousers, cap, or leather socks. However, if one does not have sandals, then he may wear leather socks, but he should cut them below the ankles."
