باب كَيْفَ وُجُوبُ الْحَجِّ:
Chapter: How Hajj Becomes Obligatory
Hadith 1826
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سِنَانٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمْ الْحَجُّ". فَقِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ ؟ قَالَ: "لَا، وَلَوْ قُلْتُهَا لَوَجَبَتْ، الْحَجُّ مَرَّةٌ فَمَا زَادَ فَهُوَ تَطَوُّعٌ" .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people! Hajj has been made obligatory upon you." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! Is it obligatory every year? He replied: "No, and if I had said yes, it would have become obligatory every year. (Hajj) is obligatory only once in a lifetime, anything beyond that is voluntary."
Hadith 1827
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، نَحْوَهُ.
This narration is also reported from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) in the same manner as previously mentioned.
