The servant of Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he used to go with Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) to Wadi al-Qura, where he had livestock (such as camels, etc.), so he would fast on Mondays and Thursdays during the journey. His servant asked: Why do you fast on Mondays and Thursdays while traveling, even though you are elderly, have become weak, or have grown thin? Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays and would say: "People's deeds are presented (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays."
Hadith Takhrij
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. I inquired about it, so he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Deeds are presented (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays." (That is, on Monday and Thursday.)
