باب في صَوْمِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ:
Chapter: Fasting Three Days Each Month
Hadith 1783
أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَوَّامُ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ لَسْتُ بِتَارِكِهِنَّ: "أَنْ لَا أَنَامَ إِلَّا عَلَى وِتْرٍ، وَأَنْ أَصُومَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ، وَأَنْ لَا أَدَعَ رَكْعَتَيْ الضُّحَى" .
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says: My close friend (Muhammad, peace be upon him) advised me regarding three things which I will never abandon: first, to sleep after performing Witr prayer; second, to fast three days every month; third, never to leave the two rak'ahs of Duha (forenoon) prayer.
Hadith 1784
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، نَحْوَهُ.
With this chain also, the aforementioned hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 1785
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "صِيَامُ الْبِيضِ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ".
Muawiyah bin Qurrah narrated from his father (Sayyiduna Qurrah, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fasting on the white days is equal to fasting the whole year, even if you break your fast." («كما قال الشيخ أحمد الساعاتي فى الفتح الرباني 157/9»).
