باب فِيمَنْ أَكَلَ نَاسِياً:
Chapter: One Who Eats Forgetfully While Fasting
Hadith 1764
أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ، عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "مَنْ نَسِيَ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَأَكَلَ أَوْ شَرِبَ، فَلْيُتِمَّ صَوْمَهُ، فَإِنَّمَا أَطْعَمَهُ اللَّهُ وَسَقَاهُ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever eats or drinks forgetfully while fasting, let him complete his fast, for it is Allah Who has fed him and given him drink."
Hadith 1765
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الْجَمَّالُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، عَنْ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَوْ شَرِبَ نَاسِيًا وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ، فَلْيُتِمَّ صِيَامَهُ، فَإِنَّمَا أَطْعَمَهُ اللَّهُ وَسَقَاهُ" . قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد: أَهْلُ الْحِجَازِ يَقُولُونَ: يَقْضِي، وَأَنَا أَقُولُ: لَا يَقْضِي.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you eats or drinks forgetfully while fasting, then remembers, he should complete his fast, for indeed it is Allah who has fed him and given him drink." Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The people of Hijaz say that in such a case, the fast must be made up, but I say that it does not have to be made up.
