باب مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْماً مِنْ رَمَضَانَ مُتَعَمِّداً:
Chapter: Deliberately Breaking a Ramadan Fast
Hadith 1752
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُطَوِّسِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ رُخْصَةٍ وَلَا مَرَضٍ، فَلَا يَقْضِيَهِ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ صَامَ الدَّهْرَ".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not fast a single day of Ramadan without a valid excuse or illness, then even if he fasts for his entire life, it will not make up for that day."
Hadith 1753
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَارَةَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُطَوِّسِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ رُخْصَةٍ رَخَّصَهُ اللَّهُ لَهُ، لَمْ يَقْضِ عَنْهُ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever, without a valid excuse for which Allah Almighty has granted permission (such as travel or illness), misses a single fast of Ramadan, then fasting for the whole lifetime will not make up for it."
