باب في فَضْلِ السُّحُورِ:
Chapter: On the Virtue of Suhoor
Hadith 1734
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "تَسَحَّرُوا فَإِنَّ فِي السُّحُورِ بَرَكَةً".
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Partake in suhoor, for indeed there is blessing in suhoor.”
Hadith 1735
حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُلَيٍّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِي قَيْسٍ مَوْلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، قَالَ: كَانَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نَصْنَعَ لَهُ الطَّعَامَ يَتَسَحَّرُ بِهِ فَلَا يُصِيبُ مِنْهُ كَثِيرًا، فَقُلْنَا: تَأْمُرُنَا بِهِ وَلَا تُصِيبُ مِنْهُ كَثِيرًا ؟ قَالَ: إِنِّي لَا آمُرُكُمْ بِهِ أَنِّي أَشْتَهِيهِ، وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "فَصْلُ مَا بَيْنَ صِيَامِنَا وَصِيَامِ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ أَكْلَةُ السَّحَرِ".
Abu Qais, the slave of Amr ibn al-As, said that our master Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) used to order us to prepare food so that we could partake in suhoor, but he himself would not eat much. We said: You order us to prepare food, but you do not eat much yourself? Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: I do not order the food to be prepared because I have a great appetite for eating, but I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The difference between our fasting and the fasting of the People of the Book is the (pre-dawn) meal of suhoor." (That is why I eat a little.)
