Sayyiduna Sakhr bin ‘Ailah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I captured the paternal aunt of Mughira bin Shu‘bah (may Allah be pleased with him) and brought her to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) inquired about the matter, then said: “O Sakhr! When a people accept Islam, their lives and wealth become protected. Return this slave woman to those people.” (Similarly,) there was a water source belonging to Banu Sulaym, and they accepted Islam and requested that their water remain with them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called me and said: “O Sakhr! When a people accept Islam, their lives and wealth become protected. Return this water (i.e., the place of water) to them.” So I returned that water (i.e., the place of water) to them.
From this chain as well, the hadith of Sayyiduna Sakhr (may Allah be pleased with him) is narrated, which is longer than the aforementioned hadith of Abu Nu’aim.
