باب التَّشْدِيدِ عَلَى مَنْ سَأَلَ وَهُوَ غَنِيٌّ:
Chapter: Warning Against Asking While Being Wealthy
Hadith 1682
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "لَا تُلْحِفُوا بِي فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ فَوَاللَّهِ لَا يَسْأَلُنِي أَحَدٌ شَيْئًا فَأُعْطِيَهُ وَأَنَا كَارِهٌ، فَيُبَارَكَ لَهُ فِيهِ".
Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not ask from me insistently; by Allah, whoever asks me and I give to him despite my dislike, it is not possible that there will be any blessing in it for him."
Hadith 1683
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ هُوَ ابْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَنْ سَأَلَ النَّاسَ مَسْأَلَةً وَهُوَ عَنْهَا غَنِيٌّ، كَانَتْ شَيْنًا فِي وَجْهِهِ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever asks anything from someone despite being wealthy, it will be a mark of disgrace on his face."
