Hadith 1649
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said: I was present with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at the Eid prayer. He performed the prayer before the sermon, then, leaning on Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), he stood up until he reached the women and admonished and advised them, and commanded them to adopt the fear of Allah. He said: "Give charity." Then he mentioned something about Hell (that "many of you will be fuel for Hell"). So a woman of lower status, with dark cheeks, stood up and said: Why is that, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "Because you complain a lot, curse frequently, and are ungrateful to your husbands." Upon hearing this, they began to take off their jewelry—earrings and rings—and put them in the garment of Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him); they were giving charity.
Hadith 1650
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) also narrated a report with the same meaning from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
