باب إِذَا كَانَ في الصَّلاَةِ نُقْصَانٌ:
Chapter: If there is deficiency in prayer
Hadith 1538
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ، قَالَ: "صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَامَ وَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ، وَقَامَ النَّاسُ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ، نَظَرْنَا تَسْلِيمَهُ فَكَبَّرَ، فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Malik ibn Buhaina (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in two rak‘ahs of prayer and stood up without sitting (i.e., without reciting the tashahhud), and the followers also stood up with him. Then when he completed the prayer, while we were waiting for him to say the salam, he said the takbir and, before saying the salam, performed two prostrations while sitting, then said the salam.
Hadith 1539
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ مَالِكِ ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ"قَامَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ مِنْ الظُّهْرِ أَوْ الْعَصْرِ، فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْ الْوَهْمِ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Malik ibn Buhaina (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up after two rak'ahs in the Zuhr or Asr prayer and did not return for the Tashahhud, until he had completed his prayer. Then he performed two prostrations and then gave salam.
Hadith 1540
أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، قَالَ: صَلَّى بِنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، قَامَ وَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ، فَسَبَّحَ بِهِ مَنْ خَلْفَهُ، فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِمْ: أَنْ قُومُوا، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ، "سَلَّمَ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْ السَّهْوِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ: هَكَذَا صَنَعَ بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" . قَالَ يَزِيدُ: يُصَحِّحُونَهُ.
Ziyad bin ‘Ilaqah said: Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu‘bah (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in prayer, and when he did not sit after two rak‘ahs but stood up, the worshippers said “Subhan Allah,” but he gestured for them to stand up as well. Then when he completed the prayer, he said the salam and performed two prostrations, and said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did the same with us.”
