Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has not permitted anything as much as He has permitted His Prophet to recite the Holy Qur'an aloud and with a beautiful voice."

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard our master Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reciting, so he said: "He has been given a voice from among the voices of the family of Dawud."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever does not recite the Qur’an in a melodious voice is not from among us.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah does not listen to anything with such love (and attention) as He listens to a Prophet reciting the Qur'an in a pleasant voice." Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: By «تغني بالقرآن» is meant independence.
