Sunan ad-Darimi

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would get up at night for Tahajjud, he would recite this supplication: «اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ........ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِكَ» up to, “O my Allah! All praise is for You alone, You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and all that is within them, You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is within them, all praise is due to You, and You are the King of the heavens and the earth and all that is within them, You are True, Your command is true, Your promise is true, meeting You is true, Paradise is true, Hellfire is true, resurrection after death is true, all the Prophets are true, and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is true. O Allah! I submit to You, and I believe in You, and I put my trust in You, and to You I turn, and by Your proofs I argue, and I make You my judge. So forgive me for what I have done before and what I will do later, what I have done in secret and what I have done openly. You are the One who brings forward and the One who delays. There is no deity except You, and there is no power and no strength except with You.”
