باب في سَجْدَةِ الشُّكْرِ:
Chapter: Prostration of gratitude
Hadith 1501
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، حَدَّثَتْنَا شَعْثَاءُ قَالَتْ: رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَقَالَ: صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الضُّحَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ حِينَ بُشِّرَ بِالْفَتْحِ، أَوْ بِرَأْسِ أَبِي جَهْلٍ".
Sha’tha’ said: I saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him), he performed two rak’ahs of prayer and said that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) received the good news of the conquest of Makkah or the beheading of Abu Jahl, he (peace be upon him) performed two rak’ahs of prayer at the time of Duha (forenoon).
