Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite quietly in these two rak‘ahs (i.e., he would not recite aloud), and she mentioned that he would recite «﴿قُلْيَاأَيُّهَاالْكَافِرُونَ﴾» and «﴿قُلْهُوَاللَّهُأَحَدٌ﴾». Sa‘id bin ‘Amir said: That is, he would recite these in the Sunnah prayers of Fajr.

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer two light rak‘ahs after the break of dawn, and this was a time when I would not be present in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), said: When the muezzin would become silent after the call to the Fajr prayer and true dawn had appeared, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would offer two light rak‘ahs before the congregation stood for prayer.

Salim narrated from his father, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer two units of Sunnah prayer after the Friday prayer, and Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) informed him that when the true dawn would break, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer two units of Sunnah prayer.
