باب الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ:
Chapter: Two rak‘ahs before Maghrib
Hadith 1478
أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنْبأَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "بَيْنَ كُلِّ أَذَانَيْنِ صَلَاةٌ، بَيْنَ كُلِّ أَذَانَيْنِ صَلَاةٌ، بَيْنَ كُلِّ أَذَانَيْنِ صَلَاةٌ لِمَنْ شَاءَ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Between every two calls to prayer (adhan and iqamah) there is a prayer, between every two calls to prayer there is a prayer, between every two calls to prayer there is a prayer." In the end, he said: "Between every two calls to prayer, whoever wishes may offer a prayer." Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: Do you also say that two rak‘ahs should be offered before Maghrib? He said: Yes, I also say this.
Hadith 1479
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا رَضِيَ اللهِ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: "كَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ يُؤَذِّنُ لِصَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ عَلَى عَهْدِ ِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَقُومُ لُبَابُ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَيَبْتَدِرُونَ السَّوَارِيَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُمْ كَذَلِكَ" . قَالَ: وَقَلَّ مَا كَانَ يَلْبَثُ.
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: In the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when the muezzin would call the adhan for Maghrib, the chosen companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would rush towards the pillars. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come out, they would be performing (the Sunnah prayers). He said: And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would rarely wait.
