Hadith 1427
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Five things have been given to me which were not given to any prophet before me. The prophets used to be sent specifically to their own people, but I have been sent as a prophet to all mankind in general. Spoils of war have been made lawful for me, which were forbidden to the prophets before me. The entire earth has been made pure, a place of prostration and purification for me. Awe has been cast into the hearts of our enemies to the distance of a month’s journey (that is, the enemy fears us from that far away). And intercession has been granted to me.”
Hadith 1428
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The entire earth is a place of prostration (mosque) except for graveyards and bathhouses.” (That is, it is not permissible to pray in graveyards and bathhouses.) Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: If someone prays in a graveyard, will his prayer be valid? He replied: If he prayed in a place where there was no grave, then the prayer will be valid, and he said: Most narrators have reported this hadith as mursal.
