باب النَّهْيِ عَنِ اشْتِمَالِ الصَّمَّاءِ:
Chapter: Forbidding wrapping oneself tightly in prayer
Hadith 1410
أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنْبأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: "نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لِبْسَتَيْنِ: أَنْ يَحْتَبِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ لَيْسَ بَيْنَ فَرْجِهِ وَبَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ شَيْءٌ، وَعَنْ الصَّمَّاءِ اشْتِمَالِ الْيَهُودِ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade two types of clothing: one is that a person wraps himself in a single garment in such a way that there is nothing covering his private parts from the sky, and the second is "ishtimal as-samma’," which is the dress of the Jews.
