Sunan ad-Darimi

باب التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ:
Chapter: Men say tasbih, women clap
Hadith 1401
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ، وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Tasbih is for men and clapping is for women."
Hadith 1402
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "إِذَا نَابَكُمْ شَيْءٌ فِي صَلَاتِكُمْ، فَلْيُسَبِّحْ الرِّجَالُ، وَلْتُصَفِّحْ النِّسَاءُ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If any incident occurs to you during the prayer (if you make a mistake or forget), then men should say «سبحان الله» and women should strike one hand on the other (clap their hands to alert).”
Hadith 1403
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ، وَعَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، وَسُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، مِثْلَهُ.
With this chain also, Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated a hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) similar to the (aforementioned narration).
