باب التَّجَافِي في السُّجُودِ:
Chapter: Spreading out in prostration
Hadith 1367
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْأَصَمِّ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَتْ: "كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَجَدَ، جَافَى حَتَّى يَرَى مَنْ خَلْفَهُ وَضَحَ إِبِطَيْهِ".
Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Maymunah bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed prostration, he would separate both his hands from his sides to such an extent that the person behind him could see the whiteness of his armpits.
Hadith 1368
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، وَإِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، قَالَتْ: "كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَجَدَ، جَافَى حَتَّى لَوْ شَاءَتْ بَهْمَةٌ تَمُرُّ تَحْتَهُ لَمَرَّتْ".
Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prostration, he would keep his arms away from his sides, so far apart that if a kid goat wanted, it could pass underneath (his arms). (That is, he would keep his arms so open that a kid goat could pass beneath them.)
Hadith 1369
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: "كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَجَدَ، خَوَّى بِيَدَيْهِ يَعْنِي: جَنَّحَ حَتَّى يُرَى وَضَحُ إِبْطَيْهِ مِنْ وَرَاءَهُ، وَإِذَا قَعَدَ اطْمَأَنَّ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ الْيُسْرَى".
Lady Maymunah, the wife of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him), said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) performed prostration, he would keep both his hands so open (separated from his sides) that the whiteness of his armpits could be seen from behind, and when he sat, he would lean on his left thigh.
