Hadith 1362
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: (During his illness) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) lifted the curtain and saw that the people were standing in rows behind Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people! Of the things that gave glad tidings of prophethood, nothing remains except the righteous and good dream which a Muslim sees, or which is shown to someone about him. Listen, I have been forbidden from reciting (the Word of Allah) in bowing and prostration, so in bowing, glorify your Lord, and in prostration, strive in supplication, for it is hoped that it will be accepted."
Hadith 1363
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been forbidden from reciting (Qur'an) while in the state of bowing and prostration, so in bowing, glorify your Lord, and in prostration, make supplication with full devotion, for it is possible that (the supplication) will be accepted."
