Hadith 1342
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when this verse « ﴿فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ﴾ » was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "Say this in your bowing (ruku’)," then when «﴿سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى﴾» was revealed, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite this in your prostrations (sujud)."
Hadith 1342
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he prayed one night with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). In bowing, he would say «سجان ربي العظيم» and in prostration, he would say «سبحان ربي الاعلي». When he passed by a verse of mercy, he would pause and supplicate for mercy, and when he recited a verse of punishment, he would seek refuge.
