Hadith 1326
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Al-Fatihah and two surahs in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr prayers (i.e., in each rak'ah, Surah Al-Fatihah and one surah, as in Bukhari), and sometimes he would make us hear a verse, and he would recite longer in the first rak'ah.
Hadith 1327
Abu Asim (Dahhak bin Makhlad) reported, from Awza'i, who narrated from Yahya with his chain, a similar narration.
Hadith 1328
Abdullah bin Abu Qatadah narrated that his father (Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah, may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to him that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Al-Fatihah and two other surahs in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr prayer, and in the last two rak'ahs he would recite only Surah Al-Fatihah. Sometimes he would let us hear a verse, and he would make the first rak'ah longer and the second rak'ah not as long. Similarly, in the 'Asr prayer, and likewise in the Fajr prayer, he would recite at length.
